November's Chopin

Due to ‘popular’ demand, I shall write a review about Jay Chou’s latest album, November’s Chopin. Haha…well, only one (Xiang Wei) requested it.
Anyhow, because I’m a Jay’s fan, I’m writing this without any obligation. There are ONLY 11 tracks in this album and only a few are really nice. The rest of the songs mainly sound the same as his previous album. Nothing much to boast about this album, his style is still the same, the pronunciations is still terrible and the lyrics are still philosophical. But as always, there are the good ones as well. I especially like Shan Hu Hai, a duet with Lara from Nan Quan Mama and also Hei Se Mao Yi. Both are slow songs which explain why I like them (his rap songs are hard to follow especially hard for pin yin readers like me!). Another song to take note is Fa Ru Xue which is a mixture of both traditional and modern melody, though the only thing I dislike about this song is that he sings with Jolin Chai’s style…you know, the terrible pronunciations topped with a hard-to-describe attitude. As for the rest of the album, well, I can’t tell you everything, can’t I? Lol..if you want to know the rest of the songs, go get one for yourself! In short, the album is worth every penny!

There's actually 12 tracks.
And y ONLY??
This "mumbling" singing is a double edge sword, some like it n say it's what make him special (including me), some dun like it.
I got J-Game's every song le, n i strongly deny Fa Ru Xue has Jolin Tsai's style. Fa Ru Xue very very similiar to Dong Feng Po (Jay said so himself), so, Dong Feng Po = Jolin's style too?

i dieagree too. only 2 good tracks in this album. 1st and 3rd track. and I think this album isn't really worth every penny. lol. only to jay supporters who can afford to suppliment his income. none the less the 2 tracks i mentioned are good.

Now my opinion on this album. Overall i rated this album 2nd best amongst all his albums, behind Fantasy. As an avid fan, i listen to all his other albums all the time, repeatedly, and singing along countless times, so i think his style has changed..compared to 8th Dimension, Ye Hui Mei and Qi Li Xiang. To me, the songs that are okok are 02-Lan Se Feng Bao, 06-Feng and 10-Shan Hu Hai (i think i compared this to Wu Ding too much). Others are GOOD.

Instead of being stuck in making great sad melodious love songs, and not as good rapping songs, as he did since 8th Dimension... 07-Lang Man Shou Ji and 09-Mai Ya Tang are definitely something different from his usuals. Happy melodious tune is Very Welcoming indeed.
While the rap songs, 05-Si Mian Chu Ge, which has crappy lyrics, as it is about scolding all the Taiwanese Entertainment Reporters (they are known as Gou Zai Dui, hence so many Gou in the lyric) which messed up his life, have good background sounds which compensates the lousy lyric and 08-Ni Lin which has very meaningful lyrics (rare, for a rap song from him) features a different rap style.

01-Ye Qu, 03-Fa Ru Xue and 04-Hei Se Mao Yi are his typical but great sad songs. Not forgetting 12-Yi Lu Xiang Bei also is one of them.

The way i compare as you can see is with his other songs and not with other artist. And to those who complain it isn't good or same as his previous albums, as you all already know, he IS Jay, and he created this style of music or should i say HIS style, and he's firm in staying to HIS STYLE strongly, including the mumbling.
But one last thing i must mention is that, he's rather arrogant to compare himself to Chopin, as the title says, he is "November's Chopin".
